I remember the day my easter eggers started laying -- I was over the moon! I still get a little thrill walking by the green and brown eggs on my counter.
Enjoy!
(and now thanks to this post I will be walking around all day humming one of these things is not like the other ... ) ;o)
Aw... All of my Auracaunas turned out to be roosters! I have no idea how to find these boys good homes and still don't have blue eggs!! You're so lucky!
Nice, that is about what our egg basket looks like every day. But our Auracaunas only laid for one year :o( the others for tow and some still laying at three years (RR's) very fun! We love our chickens and all the wonderful eggs they give us Blessings
What a beautiful, soft colour. One of our new girls has just started laying, she's not an Aracuna but the different shade of her eggs adds beauty to the daily collection.
sweet! I'd love to get a couple of those ladies myself, but we aren't really set up at the moment for chicks.... it'd be too tricky to do inside at the time and outside we don't have a space to keep them apart from our grown hens. Do you know where I could find some (blue wheaten ameracaunas) for sale as pullets? (I am in Black Mt)
It's gorgeous!
